A Busy Hodgepodge

Here I am doing another hodgepodge which is brought to you by Joyce over at http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/

Here are this week’s questions.

May 20th is World Bee Day...what's something that's kept you 'busy as a bee' lately?

Nothing the way my life is at right nothing keeps me busy

Do you like honey? What's something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?

I love honey I prefer creamed honey on crumpets or toast

"Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." Proverbs 16:24

What's a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?

I am not familiar with proverbs

The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as 'a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice'

Tell us about a 'sweet' moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.

The things that filled me with joy are the times when my grandson Blain comes down for some little thing and ends up staying for 20mins just talking to me. As up till a couple of months ago I was lucky to see him for a couple of minutes once in a while.

When you were a child, what did you want to 'be' when you grew up? How close did you come to that?

When I was a child, I had no idea what I wanted to be at some point I decided I just wanted to be a mum, and that’s what I am.

Insert your own random thought here.

Take some time to rest and recover. You don’t always have to be so busy, pushing yourself so hard. Step back and take care of yourself. Those moments of self-care will add value, energy, purpose, and creativity to everything you do. Find a healthy balance and enjoy your life.”

“Appreciate and savour the small, everyday moments that bring happiness. The simple pleasures in life can provide great joy and fulfillment. Embracing these moments enriches your overall experience.”

Tuesday's 4 and Daylight

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4, who can be found here: https://lemonscottage.blogspot.com/

Daylight is getting longer... what do you do with the extra daylight?  Is it useful, productive or not?

Well since I am in Australia, we are heading into winter, but when we do have daylight saving it has no effect on my life.

If you live where its more moderate do you spend more time outdoors?  If you live in the tropical climate, does it keep you inside?

I no longer spend much time outside

Does the extra day light cause more heat and more use of utilises for you?

It makes no difference to me

How do you cool your home?  How do you cool yourself off in the heat of the day?

Right now, my house is damn cold, and I have the heater going

Do you enjoy a good barbeque outside in the warmer months or do you cook outside and eat inside?

When I was younger, I liked a BBQ now days the only time I have a BBQ is at my brother’s house for our siblings Christmas gathering.

What foods do you enjoy on the barbeque?    If you don't barbeque, what foods and drinks do you enjoy in the warmer months?

I love BBQ snags and chicken

Getting to know me

Here are this week’s getting to know me questions and my answers. These questions are set by Kymber over at https://booomcha.com/

This week’s questions.

Would you rather have your lunch made for you every single day but never get to choose what the dish was, or be able to choose your lunch every day but have to make it yourself?

Would you rather be able to fly or breathe underwater?

Would you rather be the funniest person in the room or the smartest?

Here are my answers.

Make it myself because I know what I feel like each day

Fly it would make travel a lot faster

I would rather be the quiet one sitting to the side watching other people

Tuesday 4 living here

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4, who can be found here: https://lemonscottage.blogspot.com/

Sometimes we lie in the same place where we were born and remain there all of our lives.

Sometimes we move away and never come back because of jobs, marriage, circumstances of all kinds.

Sometimes we choose where we will live and we have definite reasons for staying there even though we might be far from family.

Are you far from family and if so why? Would you like to have them closer and have you discussed that with them?

Nope I am not I have a daughter who lives 30minutes from me but that’s not far and my other two daughters live a stone’s throw from me, we like living close to each other.

How did you come to live in the state you are in? How about the city/town.

I was born here; I grew up in a suburb 10 minutes from where I live

What good things keep you living where you are?

I am comfortable here and my family are close by and that’s how I like it.

What's good about your state and town?

I don’t know it is just what I am used to

What things might convince you to move to another state or just another town?

Maybe if my daughter’s move to another state I would consider following them  but no way I want to move to  a different town, I am really happy here

A Curious Hodgepodge

Here I am doing another hodgepodge which is brought to you by Joyce over at http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/

Here are this week’s questions.

What's something you're curious about right now?

Well as I sit here and ponder these questions, I find myself curious as to how someone comes up with these questions. Also, kinda curious as to why whenever I go to record a voice message, I find myself yawning over and over.

If you could plan the perfect girl's weekend getaway, where would you go and what would be on the agenda? Do you have anything like this on your calendar in the next few months?

We would go on a cruise for a week where we have nothing to do but lay around drinking cocktails and chilling

What's the most unique item in your refrigerator right now?

Just the usual stuff, cheese, milk, eggs, scones, butter, ham, jam, Pepsi Max, fruit, bread and other stuff.

In this season of your life, what do you find most challenging?

Not falling over, I am often unsteady on my feet and have problems with balance.

Do you collect anything? If so, why that?

When I was younger, I collect photos of actors and actresses and postcards from places visited. Now all I collect is memories.

Insert your own random thought here.

Remember we all have times when we feel sad for no known reason, but if it continues day after day, see a doctor and get help as you may be suffering from depression and need some form of treatment.

Sister you are always in my heart

SISTER YOU ARE ALWAYS IN MY HEART

My heart holds you close wherever I go, you are always in my thoughts and at the centre of my soul.

My, hopes for you are the highest, my dreams for you the brightest.

My faith in you is the strongest because I know how hard your struggle is.

You are a beautiful person who shines her light on the world, with your loving kindness, compassion for others any your actions to empower others to shine their own bright light.

Wherever I go, my heart reaches out to you across the miles and gives you long-distance hugs of love, appreciation, and thanks for everything you’ve done to make our family so sweet and so much fun.

Today, we can still count on the bond we made in our childhood days, to enhance our lives and sustain us in uncertain times.  We count on each other to listen with love and understanding, lift each other up when our spirits drag us down, and give a helping hand these are the best gifts we can give each other.

I can always be certain that you will be my family, my family, and my sister for eternity.

I am sure there is something, but nothing comes to mind

A Mother's Day Hodgepodge

Here I am doing another hodgepodge which is brought to you by Joyce over at http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/

Here are this week’s questions.

Let's compare this May to last May. What's changed? What remains very much the same?

I can’t think of anything that has change.

What's something you may do this month?

I can’t think of anything, other then going to the cemetery to leave a Mother’s Day card for mum.

Mother's Day is approaching (in the US of A)...in what way(s) are you like your mother?

How am I like my mum; well, my siblings say that I am not one to judge and I am a loving and giving person like mum I am supportive like mum and give great hugs like mum.

Did you have a favourite book as a child? What was it and why was it a favourited.

Yeah, as a child I loved the Trixie Beldon books can’t remember who wrote them but read the over and over.

Are you more of a tortoise or a hare? Explain.

Tortoise I am one to take things slow and steady, no rushing into things for me.

Insert your own random thought here.

I feel most of us will connect more with one child then others, I have three daughters, and everyone think my favourite is the youngest daughter, this is because she is the one most like me thus the one, I connect most with.  Our second daughter is a small, female version of her father and our precious first born is a mix of both her dad and me.  We both wanted our first born, Tim wanted our second daughter and had to convince me to have another baby, and I had to talk him into having our third daughter.

Getting to know me

Here are this week’s getting to know me questions and my answers. These questions are set by Kymber over at https://booomcha.com/

This week’s questions.

Shopping online or shopping in-store?

Science fiction or mystery?

Movie adaptations or books?

Here are my answers.

I like both but do my groceries online and I like going through Temu or Shein online.

I prefer mystery although I watched a lot of Star Trek

Books always, the movie adaptations are never as good as the book in my opinion.

Tuesday's Four

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

This week let's talk about home or the house in which you grew up.

What do you think of this picture of the staircase. Do you like how it looks?  Does it say "home" to you?

Yeah, I like the look of it, and it does say home to me.

Would you like something that looks like this?

Yeah, when I was younger, I would have liked it, not now when getting upstairs is hard.

Did you love growing up in your family home? Could you live in a house like that today?

Oh yeah, I loved two of the four houses I lived in growing up, I would love to live in the last house, but my parents rented and after they passed away the house was sold.

What did your bedroom look like when you were a teen?

I had a small bedroom with posters all over the walls, don’t ask me who of as I can’t remember.

What kind of vibes or atmosphere do you like to foster in your home today?  Sophisticated, homey?

Definitely homy I live in a home not a house, this something my paternal grandfather would say about my parents’ home, which is why he liked staying there.  On one occasion after being released from hospital he went to stay with his daughter and her family, he had only been there 3 days when my parents went over to see him and have lunch. When it was time for mum & dad to leave, they found pop with his suitcase packed waiting next to the door ready to leave with them.  After some discussion he did leave with them coming back to our home to finish recovering, he stayed 2 months because he liked being there, he told mum & dad that my aunts house was always clean and tidy and the children were quiet, unlike our home which was somewhat messy and us kids somewhat loud
