Nope

How often do you check the weather? Where do you get your weather reports?

A few times a day, from the “BOM Bureau of Meteorology

What time of your life was the happiest and why do you think that was?  How could life improve for you now?

Right now, because I am happy with who I am now, things would improve if I could control my stress.

What things would you ordain to make everyday life happier, kinder, more prosperous, for everyone?

I feel people would be happier if they learnt to accept that not everyone things as they do and didn’t go through life judging others

Remember your mind controls your body, it forms your thoughts good and bad, bad thoughts can damage your soul, hurt your heart which can have a negative effect on the kind of person you come across as being. Try not to let the bad and negative thoughts take control, tell them to take a hike and replace them with something that brings happiness and love.

I can’t think of any one think but most likely it would be a swimsuit

A cockatoo they are loud and often it sounds like they are telling you off for being late with their birdseed.

Here are this week's questions

Where do you like to buy your groceries and do you buy by the day, week or month?

I do a weekly shop and I do online shopping at both major grocery stores here Coles & Woolworths and I get it delivered that costs me only $2, there are only a few $2 slots available so I start my shopping on Sunday for delivery on Tuesday.

What foods would we always find in your kitchen?

Milk, butter, cheese, vegemite, peanut butter and plum jam

Do you buy anything online and if so what kinds of things are you most likely to buy there?

Other than groceries, I do a lot of shopping on Temu

Do you shop with a list on paper, on your phone or do you just shop without a list and maybe come home with things you never planned to buy?

I have a list written on paper for my online shopping and when I go out to the supermarket which is once a fortnight with my sister Sue, I have it written on my phone sometimes I will tape a small paper list to my phone case.

Bonus question:  What will you be cooking in the coming week?

Nothing I no longer do any cooking

Yes, I do, I have many photos and pictures on my walls

 

2. Do you prefer wooden/tiled floors or carpets and rugs?

 

Carpets, I find the other floor coverings a fall hazard for me now days.

 

3. Do you have an outside patio, balcony, or decking?

 

Nope

 

4. Do you prefer a traditional bathroom with bath/shower or a wet room?

 

Once I would have said a traditional bathroom with a bathtub but now, I have a disabled bathroom with no bathtub

A Loving Hodgepodge

1. America celebrates turning 250 years old this year. Primary cities set to lead the celebrations on July 4th are Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington D.C. Other significant locations for celebrating will be Charleston SC and the 'historic triangle' which includes Jamestown-Willimasburg-Yorktown Virginia. 

Of the cities listed how many have you seen in person? Of the cities listed which would you most like to visit this year? Any plans to do so? What's one place in America you think everyone should, see? If you're not American what's one place in the US, you'd like to see? 

Well since I live in Australia, I have not seen and part of the States, once I would have liked to visit the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and New York but not at this time, oh and I have been to Hawaii.

The sound of the neighbours fighting

4. February 24th is/was National Tortilla Chip Day. Are you a fan? With salsa, guacamole, queso, or just plain please? Do you like nachos? With what on top? Is there anything (besides nachos) you make that calls for tortilla chips?

The Hodgepodge lands on Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. Do you mark this season in some way? Will you be giving something up or adding something to your life in this Lenten season?

Pancakes...are you a fan? Syrup or no syrup? Plain, blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, or some other add in? Are pancakes on your menu this week? 

I like to add chocolate chips and use Maple Syrup

I can’t think of one

What's your favorite jewel or gemstone? In terms of your wardrobe would we find more gemstones, pastels, black and white, or primary colours? 

My wardrobe has a good mix of black and colours such as purple, green and red. I don’t have a favourite jewel or gemstone.

What responsibility do you think is hardest about being in charge? 

Being in charge can mean assigning tasks to others and that can be difficult.

Can’t think of anything but I bet I was with Sue at the time

2. A bed of roses, everything's coming up roses, every rose has it's thorn, stop and smell the roses, rose-colored glasses, a rose among thorns...which rosy expression might currently be applied to your life in some way? 

After some thought I am going with stop and smell the roses, because lately that’s what I feel that I need to do, slow down and enjoy what life has for me at this time

1. Do you own a TV or do you have more than one? Is it old fashioned or one of the new wide screens?

We now have only one TV there was a time we had more this one    is only 1yr old and has a wide enough screen for us.

2. Which programs do you like to watch?

I like crime shows and body cam YouTube clips

3. Were you ever a soap opera or serial fan and if so what series or soaps were your favorite?

Once a pond a time I use to watch Days of our Lives and Young and the Restless

4. Is there a TV character that stands out in your mind and if so what makes them special or noteworthy? 

Maxwell Smart from Get Smart, no idea why he is just who popped into my head when I read the question.

The Winter Olympics kick off on Friday, February 6th...on a scale of 1-10 how excited are you? (1= eh and 10=watching every event all day every day). What's your favorite Winter Olympic sporting event? 

Since I have zero interest in sport the answer is none

In other sporting news, the Superbowl (American football's championship game) will be played on Sunday, February 8th. So tell us...what's your superpower?’

I would say how I try to see other’s point of view and being able to accept that other people don’t see things how I do and to be able to not have a fit over it.

Are you a romantic? 

Nope I don’t think I am, I’m to practical

Blue cheese-yay or nay? How about feta? If you said yes to one or both, what's a dish you like that calls for one of these? 

Blue cheese yuck and feta not keen on that either

What's more important-doing what you love or loving what you do? 

Loving what you do because honestly you often are unable to do what you love.

Remember that what we tell ourselves can do so much harm to us if we are all running ourselves down with negative thoughts telling ourselves that we are stupid or ugly and unlovable is not good, every day we should remind ourselves that we are indeed loveable and even if we have a stupid thought from time to time it doesn’t make us stupid just normal. I often tell myself that I am looking good when I look at myself in a mirror, yes there are times I will say I look old, but I don’t say I look ugly, just old. We need to have more positive thoughts about ourselves.

What is something you are proud of that we don't know about?

I can’t think of a damn thing, I am pretty sure everyone knows I am proud of my daughters and grandchildren, and I am sure I have mentioned how proud I am of my sister Sue and her struggle with addiction.

What subject or things are overrated or talked about too much in your opinion.?

Politics without a doubt especially since rarely anything new is mentioned and they all lie so much you can’t believe anything a pollie says.

What things and topics should be talked about more often or are under rated in your opinion?

Acceptance of other people’s opinions and believes not just by in general but within one’s own family.

Are there any things you've changed your mind about in the last few years?’

The rights and feelings of transgender people, once this was something I never considered, now I do.

What drives you to get up in the morning?

I have no idea what drives me now other than habit.

Do you like cities or remote places better?

Cities but not overcrowded places like Sydney, as I don’t handle crowds well.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

I am not a concert going person, I have been to a few a long time ago when Tim was doing concert work, meaning a bus company he drove for would pick up concert goes and take them to the venue and of course took the back to where they were picked up from.  Anyway, back then I was able to go with him and even though we had to stay in the bus you could hear and often see what was going on.

New Zealand, I love that country, been there 3 times want to go back again.

It would have to be the Trixie Belden books I read as a child, I read them over and over

My grandmother made the best roast/baked potatoes

A wonderful life is one movie I like watching a lot and TV series well there is Midsommer Murders, Call the Midwife, Dad’s Army and Hogan’s Heroe’s.

I live in the south so we're pretty much only talking about the weather right now. Give us a weather report from where you live. Does the kind of weather you're having today affect your mood in some way? 

I live in the Southern Hemisphere and at the  moment the weather is either bloody hot or pretty cool, yesterday it was 38c or 100f and today it is 26c or 78.8f

Avocados, kale, cauliflower and cottage cheese have all had their time to shine. 2026 brings us the year of the cabbage. Is this a vegetable you like? If so, what are some of your favorite dishes that call for cabbage?  

Nope don’t like it

Was a Cabbage Patch Doll a part of your childhood? Or maybe your children's childhood? What's a toy trend from your childhood you remember wanting for your own? 

My daughter always wanted a Gabbage Patch Doll but we couldn't afford to get her one, of course I remember my rocking horse which is red and I still have.

My family

Being able to still do most of the housework, odd but a couple of years ago I wasn’t able to do much

Listening to an audio book

Spending time with my sister Sue

Being able to make money spread as I am good at budgeting

Having a heater in winter and air conditioning in summer

Watching YouTube which I find relaxing

Being able to handwrite stuff, ok can’t do it all the time but I can still do at times
