Hodgepodge Here and There

Hi everyone, here is the latest hodgepodge

http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/2026/08/hodgepodge-questions-volume-675.html

From this Side of the Pond

1. Do you think you're driven more by curiosity or comfort? Explain.

My first thought was I’m driven by car………lol

But of course, that’s not what you meant so the other answer would be a mix of both.

2. What non-food item is in your refrigerator or freezer?

Ice packs, Tim uses them when he packs his lunch

3. Are you comfortable with silence? If you're home alone, do you like silence or do you need regular background noise? Do you seek out times and places to be silent? What's your favorite place to find silence/be silent?

I am generally comfortable with silence and often sit in silence first thing in the morning.

4. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping...which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today?

I really can’t decide manly because none of those appeal to me in any way.

5. Do you lean more towards being too needy or too independent? Which do you find harder to deal with in others?

I feel that I come across too needy due to having Parkinson’s maybe this is because I find needly people annoying.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

True strength isn't found in never falling, but in getting up every time we do. Every time you fall, you become stronger, wiser, and closer to your goals.

  1. I agree with you on strength and falling. I used to tell my son that he learns more when his team loses than when they win. He didn't like that answer because he was always on winning teams but now he gets it!

  2. Enjoyed reading your answers today. None of the professions in #4 appealed to me, but boy they would be useful skills to have! Agree with your random thought about learning strength from having fallen and then getting up again. That takes strength and courage.
Hope you're having a great week!

  3. That's funny about the car. Good point, I keep ice packs too but I use them for pain. If you are needy that shouldn't be annoying to anyone. You can't help that. I really like your random thought. Take care.

  4. I think when you're dealing with a chronic illness it's probably difficult not to feel needy at times. Yet, there is real need so I don't think people have a problem with that sort of 'neediness', at least I don't. I am eager to help those in real need. Your last thought is a good one! Have a nice weekend!

    1. Being needy due to a medical condition is one thing but some people come across as needy just for attention
