A flowerily hodgepodge

Hi everyone, here is the latest hodgepodge

http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/2026/02/hodgepodge-questions-volume-657.html

How would you define 'the good life'?

To me it is that part of your life that you remember with joy and laughter

What's the most used app on your phone (and are you proud of that)?

My banking app, I don’t do a lot on my phone

'Every rose has it's thorn', 'everything's coming up roses', 'looking through rose-colored glasses', 'it's no bed of roses' or 'stop and smell the roses'...which rose idiom best relates to something in your life currently. Explain.

“Every rose has it’s thorn” because with Parkingson’s even a good day will have unexpected struggles.

How do you feel about floral flavourings in food or drink (rose, hibiscus, elderflower, lavender)?

Not a fan of it although until a few years ago I had never heard of using them, I have tried a couple things with lavender in and didn’t like them much.

Over the course of your life what have you probably spent more time pondering than anything else?

I don’t know, I am sure there must have been something, but I can’t think of anything right now

Insert your own random thought here.

Today I am grateful for the wonder of life and the small things that make everyday life, special, a message from a grandchild, an unexpected hug from my husband, things like that.

  1. I have my banking app on my phone but rarely use it, I much prefer to do everything on my laptop.
It sounds like you have a lot to be grateful for.

  4. I like your random thought. I use the banking app on my phone mostly - if I want to use it on my laptop I have to have the phone to hand to get a log in code!

    1. Same here and for most things it is easier to do it on the phone, but generally speaking I prefer to use the laptop to do stuff

  5. I am on social media much less these days, other than my blog. I feel like my feeds now are all ads and reels from people I don't know but the algorithm for some reason thinks I'd enjoy. Have a great day!
