Hodgepodge and Pancakes

Hi all here I am taking part in 2026 hodgepodge Q & A the questions can be found here:

http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/2026/02/hodgepodge-questions-volume-641.html

The Hodgepodge lands on Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. Do you mark this season in some way? Will you be giving something up or adding something to your life in this Lenten season?

Nope

Pancakes...are you a fan? Syrup or no syrup? Plain, blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, or some other add in? Are pancakes on your menu this week?

I like to add chocolate chips and use Maple Syrup

Tell us about a time recently when you felt 'spread too thin'.

I can’t think of one

What's your favorite jewel or gemstone? In terms of your wardrobe would we find more gemstones, pastels, black and white, or primary colours?

My wardrobe has a good mix of black and colours such as purple, green and red. I don’t have a favourite jewel or gemstone.

What responsibility do you think is hardest about being in charge?

Being in charge can mean assigning tasks to others and that can be difficult.

Insert your own random thought here.

Words have power. So, speak positivity over your life. Declare blessings, call in goodness, and speak out the things you want to live. Say that things will work out, that the doors you need will open, that you will find peace, love, and prosperity.
Give thanks even for what has not happened yet, as if it were already yours. Because everything we speak with faith is planted in the world and it always returns to us multiplied.”

  1. I really liked the part about words having power — it’s such a good reminder to stay positive and grateful. And chocolate chip pancakes with maple syrup? Yum, that sounds perfect!

  4. I've never done lent. The chocolate chips in the pancakes sounds yummy. Your wardrobe sounds nice. I agree. I wouldn't want to give people tasks either. Love your random thought. Take care.

  5. Love your thoughts about the power of words. And I agree about being in charge. Delegating to others is great but we are still responsible for how the task is carried out. I've often been disappointed by those I delegated to.

I chose to answer one question only this week -- and it's all about the pancakes. Now that's a sweeter thought.
