Here I am
doing another hodgepodge which is brought to you by Joyce over at http://www.fromthissideofthepond.com/
Here are this week’s questions.
What does patriotism mean to you?
Simple being proud of your country, it isn’t
something I feel the need to in your face.
2. September-October-November...your favorite fall month? Tell
us why. If you live in the southern hemisphere, use these months but sub spring
for the word fall.
I love that the weather is warming up and
generally the days are neither cold nor hot, although this spring we are having
a lot of hot like summer days.
3. A song you love with the word thanks (or some form of that word)
in the title or lyrics?
Thank God I’m a country boy by John Denver, love
that song
4. November is National Peanut Butter Month. Are you a fan?
What's the last peanut butter bite you had? Fill in the blank: peanut butter
and _____________________ .
Oh, and you can't say jelly.
Peanut butter and nothing except some butter on
the bread or crumpet first. Yes, I am a fan of peanut butter.
5. This week's gratitude question-What event from this past year
are you most grateful for?
I have thought about this, and I can’t think of a
single event, there have been many little things I have been grateful for
during the year.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
The time often comes when someone starts to
realise what true happiness is and it’s not the size of your house, or how new
your car is, or how successful other people think you are.
Instead, happiness is often being thankful for the
little things in life, things like the feel of a breeze against your body or
the way clean sheets feel. Seeing or hearing from someone important to you or
the way your pet reacts when you return home.

But seriously, your random thought about what true happiness is? That's the one I'm circling. That shift in perspective—realizing happiness is in the clean sheets, the breeze, and the way your pet greets you—is super profound and educative. It's a great reminder to focus on the simple, tangible joys instead of the external status markers. That's a great note to end on!
ReplyDeleteI am pleased you liked it
DeleteI like your random observation. We all need to learn that sooner rather than later. I am so not a fan of peanut butter lol.
ReplyDeleteI am glad it is liked
DeleteSometimes all the little things add up to an overall feeling of gratitude for the lives we're living. I like the John Denver song too. Definitely one to sing along with! Hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true
DeleteThat John Denver song is a favorite - so fun to sing along to with the crowd at sporting events! And it's kind of related to your random thought about happiness - the song talks about how happy he is and how good his life is and he's thankful for the little everyday things. Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks it was a good week
DeleteAbsolutely agree with your random thoughts! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI would love Sept-Oct-Nov too, if it was getting warmer here...
ReplyDeleteYeah I prefer warm over cold
DeleteEnjoyed reading your answers and what a great song choice. Glad you like peanut butter. Your random thought is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYeah I do like peanut butter and I also like that song
Delete"Instead, happiness is often being thankful for the little things in life..."
ReplyDeleteI think this is so true.
I do too
DeleteThis hodgepodge feels like a real conversation, steady, thoughtful, and grounded in everyday life. The way you move from patriotism to peanut butter to the meaning of happiness makes it all feel refreshingly human. Honestly, those closing reflections about the small things are the kind of truths people learn slowly, and they ring beautifully true.
ReplyDeleteI often write as if I am talking to people, well that's what I have been told
DeleteMy favorite month of the year (doesn't have to be Fall) is October. In fact (probably like April), our October's weather is similar to your October weather. I wore shorts quite a bit when I was in Argentina. Also wore long pants and wasn't uncomfortable. Nights were cool, though.
ReplyDeleteOctober is a good month it the birth month of three of my siblings
